Anger’s Bilious Nature
Back since the dawn of humanity,
Perhaps to when animal life itself began;
Aggression, rage, and irritability,
proved
the bilious nature of man.
The Chinese say the liver gets inflamed,
And the yang runs arrogant;
As fire runs rampant,
The yin’s juices get over spent.
Others point to chemicals,
Like testosterone;
Physical
reasons for aggression,
With psychological overtone.
Whatever the cause, the effect is the same:
Hurt feelings, torment and pain;
So if you can control it,
Please, from anger, refrain.
While angered words may break no bones,
They’ve fueled the fire of war;
Guard your temper carefully,
So anger may rage no more.
