The Etching of Our Love

If I could make an etching, I’d put you next to me.

I’d cover us in flowers, and put us by the sea.

I’d etch that we’d be holding hands, in love as lovers can get;

laughing, dancing, swinging round, as the sun begins to set.

And I’d etch it in gold, the most precious of metals, because you are so precious to me.

I’d etch so it may last forever,  like our love will truly be.
