Tenderness

When our heart is open,

And beating right in tune;

We will act with tenderness,

No matter what our mood.

For with an awakened heart,

How could we act otherwise?

Tenderness is the caring act,

That leaves out all despise.

With tenderness, there is the gentleness,

To care where care is due.

Care is due within ourselves,

And amongst others too.

It takes bravery to be tender,

Because an open heart is vulnerable;

But a heart that can’t be broken,

Allows  us to share what we are able.

And we are able to be tender,

Gentle and secure,

If we recognize our inherent value,

And do not covet more.
