Love is the universal language

I pet my cat, she understands;

I pat the horse, she knows;

I smile at the child, he smiles back;

Love is the universal language.

My dog comes and sits in my lap;

The cow appreciates being fed;

I say hi to the stranger, she returns my greeting;

Love is the universal language.

I hold my love’s hand, of course, she knows;

and comfort my baby, he too;

Folks from even the most distant of lands know,

Love is the universal language
