Garden of the Heart
Like
the earth, fertile when nourished;
Our
Hearts can grow sweet fruits,
and be tilled to flourish.
The
soil must be tended, by gardeners called parents;
Protected,
kept sacred, by love that’s inherent;
The
seedling must be guarded from invasion by weeds;
Given
light and water and the minerals it needs.
Until
it is strong enough to stand on it’s own;
The
young plant must take in the garden of its home.
And
likewise our hearts need good old fashion tending;
Or
else it will be hurt, when immature for defending.
Because
storms are likely to set in and threaten it’s
sanctity;
Emotions
can damage or protect it’s safety.
And
when finally full grown and standing so strong.
The
well gardened heart will bear fruits for long.
