Dogma

Holding tightly to our own beliefs,

We put into words our sense of right;

Dogma is this doctrine,

That often leads us to our plight.

Dogma is made of our opinions,

Of mental traditions we hold as true;

To others it’s someone other’s dogma,

For some, dogma is a social glue.

They use dogma to unite the masses,

Or form religions that prove their dogma true;

Some manipulate machines of politics

To get their dogma through.

All in all it seems dogma is just words,

Words that can lead our mind;

Sometimes we need to go beyond dogma,

With hearts agreeing to be kind.
