COUPLED SORROW

O woe, o woe, o woe are we,

as we behold our coupled sorrow.

Our weeping hearts reflect this sadness,

in view of tragedy in store for the morrow.

All around this tragedy looms,

this way, that way, there it glooms.

Smothering joy with the smoke of despair,

bringing sadness and sorrow and remorse to the air.

The light must shine within our hearts,

if we are to defeat gloom's mighty hand.

With this light comes the promise,

of peace in our hearts and land.

Overcome we are now with a heart full of pain,

but hope for a brighter day.

We will never give up, never give in,

to despair's depressing way.

Thus will we carry on,

to live life with our clouded hopes.

Till the day this fog dries up,

we'll join our strength to cope.
